Histology Tech (Cert)

The Licensed Histology Technician/Histotechnologist performs routine and complex histologic procedures to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. This role includes gross examination and dissection of specimens in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and under appropriate supervision. The position requires current state licensure (where applicable) and adherence to all laboratory quality, safety, and compliance standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Receive, accession, and process surgical and biopsy specimensPerform tissue fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and stainingPrepare routine (H&E) and special stains as requiredPerform immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as applicableMaintain proper specimen identification and integrity throughout workflowOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipmentPerform quality control and quality assurance proceduresDocument procedures, results, and corrective actions per lab policy
