About the job
We’re partnering with a high-end precision manufacturer to hire an experienced Second Shift CNC Manager/Lead.This is a unique opportunity for a senior machinist who wants more ownership without moving away from the technical side of manufacturing. The company is investing in and expanding its second-shift operation, and this person will play a major role in how that shift is built and operates long term. This is not a desk-based supervisor position. You’ll be on the floor as the senior technical resource—helping machinists solve difficult problems, troubleshooting complex jobs, supporting quality, setting priorities, and keeping production moving. The work consists of complex, tight-tolerance components for highly regulated industries, so we're looking for someone who has worked in an environment where machining knowledge, GD&T, inspection, and process discipline really matter.Responsibilities:7+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.Strong hands-on experience with CNC milling and turning.Experience with wire EDM strongly preferred.Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and quality requirements.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machining processes, setups, tooling, and dimensional issues.Previous experience leading, mentoring, or serving as a senior technical resource for other machinists.Aerospace, defense, medical, or similarly tight-tolerance manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Experience working within AS9100 or another highly regulated quality system is highly valuable.Comfortable being hands-on while also taking ownership of workflow, quality, and team performance.Requirements10+ years of CNC machining experienceStrong hands-on CNC milling and turning knowledgeExperience troubleshooting complex setups and machining processesAdvanced blueprint reading and GD&TStrong understanding of dimensional inspection and qualityExperience with tight-tolerance, high-precision manufacturingExperience mentoring, leading, or serving as the technical resource for other machinistsExposure to additional precision processes such as wire EDM is highly valuableExperience in aerospace, defense, medical, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferredBenefitsVery competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchingPaid time offLife and disability insuranceHSA and flexible spending account optionsBonus potentialProfessional development and advancement opportunities
